How to use Anthurium soil

Using the mixture is very easy! Start by removing as much of the old soil as possible. Gently squeeze the pot while holding it sideways to loosen the soil around the plant. Hold the roots under lukewarm tap water to remove any remaining debris.

Additionally, you should remove any dead leaves still attached to the plant with scissors. Now your plant is ready for its fresh anthurium soil. Place a thin layer of anthurium soil on the bottom of the pot.

Place the plant in the pot and slowly add anthurium potting mix around the sides to fill the pot. Ensure that the point where the roots meet the plant is just covered with the anthurium potting mix.

Gently pat the anthurium potting mix into the pot. Make sure to water the anthurium thoroughly after repotting, as this will help the mixture and roots to take hold.

Why Anthurium soil works

Since anthuriums are epiphytic and typically have larger roots, there's plenty of coconut husks and pine bark to provide ample space for them. Anthuriums are susceptible to rot. The added activated charcoal and perlite ensure continuous aeration and purification of the soil, significantly reducing the risk of root rot. The perfect soil for anthuriums!

The original habitat of the anthurium plants

The anthurium is a slow-growing plant that prefers moist conditions and is typically found in tropical forests of Central and South America. Most anthurium species are climbing plants with thick, epiphytic roots. They require a granular mix with larger pieces to support these roots.

Care of Anthurium plants

Since they originate in tropical rainforests, they prefer higher humidity and regular watering. Unlike Alocasia, you should allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out before watering again. Mist your Anthurium regularly if you live in a dry environment.

Anthuriums prefer indirect, bright light, as brighter light promotes the formation of large, healthy flowers. Do not place them in direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will burn.
