How to use Syngonium soil

Using the mixture is very easy! Start by removing as much of the old soil as possible. Gently squeeze the pot while holding it sideways to loosen the plant. Rinse the roots under lukewarm tap water to remove any remaining bits and debris.

Also, remove any dead leaves that may still be on the plant using scissors. Now your plant is ready for its fresh Syngonium soil. Place a thin layer of Syngonium soil on the bottom of the pot.

Place the plant in the pot and slowly add Syngonium potting mix to the sides to fill the pot. Ensure that the point where the roots meet the plant is just covered by the Syngonium potting mix.

Gently pat the Syngonium potting mix into the pot. Be sure to water the Syngonium thoroughly after repotting, as this helps the mixture and roots to establish themselves.

Why Syngonium Earth Works

The combination of gravel, coconut husks, and perlite creates an airy substrate that provides the roots with the oxygen they crave. Since Syngonium thrive in humid environments, activated charcoal is added to prevent the increased risk of mold and harmful microbes. The perfect Syngonium soil!

The original habitat of Syngonium plants

Like Alocasia, Calathea, and Maranta, Syngonium plants originate from tropical forests with well-drained, moist, and fertile soils. In Central America, they grow under the tree canopy and prefer shadier conditions to thrive. This Syngonium substrate mimics this habitat.

Care of Syngonium plants

Caring for Syngonium plants is similar to caring for other Araceae, but they are a little more delicate. They prefer warm temperatures and high humidity. Be sure to mist your Syngonium occasionally if you live in a dry area.

Syngoniums need slightly more water than typical Araceae. Make sure the soil doesn't dry out completely. Place your Syngonium in a bright, indirect light location, and you're sure to have a happy plant!
